About Us

We are Melissa and Dakota, the founders of Sol Fed Ranch Dog Food. Our story is a little different than other dog food companies. We are ranchers. We have spent our careers raising grass fed grass finished meat and we do it while helping to heal the land. We practice regenerative ranching, which means we think protecting our ecosystems, promoting healthy soil, raising healthy food, and supporting strong rural economies all go hand in hand.

Over the years we have worked alongside many herding dogs and livestock guardian dogs. These dogs are part of the team, doing a job they love to do. They are our coworkers and our companions. Working on regenerative ranches we are always talking about the health benefits of 100% grass fed beef, which is the star ingredient of our recipe. Whether you have a working dog or just a best friend, they deserve the best. That is why we started Sol Fed Ranch Dog Food.

Sol Fed Ranch supports ranchers doing good work on the land. We source our ingredients from regenerative ranchers who have a positive impact on the environment. Our goal is to help the producers use more of the animal by using organs that ranchers have a hard time selling, but dogs love. We worked with a Certified Canine Nutritionist to create a complete and Balanced recipe and enhance these ingredients with best superfoods for your dog.
